« HIRA GASY » is an original kind of “folk opera”, born a few centuries ago on the High Lands. It has been passed on orally, from one generation to the next, among families that have ensured its continuity. It includes drama, oratory, singing, mime, music and dance performed by a group of 15-20 people called Mpihira Gasy (previously called Jejilava, Mpihiran’Andriana, Mpilalao). Most of the time, texts are related to Malagasy daily life, in order to give advice, to teach and to explain to young generation the Malagasy thoughts…

The National Park “Tsingy of Bemaraha” is not approachable during the rain season (from mid-November till March), it is owed to the awful state of the road; nevertheless, the fly over the Tsingy on private plane is always possible. For the same reason, the season of the navigation on the Tsiribihina will be closed from around the 15th November.
